Dr. Merrill

David Merrill - Chiropractor

Merrill Chiropractic opened on 02/06/93 with my wife and mother as my staff of support. We were blessed that first day with 12 new patients, and it took from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm to process each of those patients. Since that beginning I have focused exclusively on the Gonstead technique as the vehicle to restore joint and nerve dysfunction in the spine and extremities. This technique of spinal examination and correction is safe and specific. In addition to a strong practice , Dr. Gonstead also developed a research database to support the science behind the Gonstead difference for spinal restoration.
I strive to maintain a strong faith by a relationship with God the Father, through God the Son and led by God the Holy Spirit in order to focus each day to be a conduit of healing from the great physician into the lives of my patients. For me, everyday at Merrill Chiropractic is simply a blessing where god allows me to be a part of a ministry of reconciliation of physical, emotional and spiritual health of each individual that we come in contact with on a daily basis. It is a blessing to be a blessing!

Anita Barton

Anita Barton - Natural Health Consultant

Until early 2005, I considered myself a pretty healthy individual.  I never had even a cold, mostly just the occasional sinus infection.  Then, a seris of illnesses left me with fibromyalgia, a potentially debilitating syndrome.  Because of the stigma attached to this syndrome, I didn't share with most people that I even suffered with it.  Knowing a little about it and not wanting to follow the usual protocol consisting mostly of prescription medication with little or no improvement, my life took on a new role.  My goal was now to learn all I could about nutrition and its role in illness recovery. I began to learn about cleansing and nourishing the body, and as I applied this new knowledge to myself, I began to see the symptoms of this symdrone go away. Then I was driven to make the connection as to how this had happened to me in the first place.  Therein began my official studies in Natural Health.

Along the way, I have been shocked and amazed many times at the complexity and perfection of this body given to us by the Creator.  I have also found interestingly enough that the body gives us many warning signs that we have not been taught to pay attention to. I wished over and over that someone had shared this connection between warning signs and specific nutrition with me.  It wasn't long before I began to see what the Lord would have me do.  All this learning was not just for my good to reverse illness, but also for the good of others.

I have been privileged to meet and train under knowledgeable and passionate teachers from here at home and from across the United States.  From this training nutritional counseling, nutritional response testing,  and Iridology have become the core of what now is Omega Health.  In an exciting recent addition, nutritional response testing is taken to a new level with the BioMeridian Vantage System. This is a new state of the art tool which measures electrical conductivity in the hands and feet, thereby assessing strengths and weaknesses of systems and organs. Together, all of these modalities give you, the client, an overall assessment of or which a variety of protocols may be suggested, all natural of course. The goal is to build immunity capability by strengthening the body's organs and systgems specifc to each individual.

Tom

Tommas Bettini- Licensed Massage Therapist

I was born in Johnson City, Tennessee in 1960.  Raised in Kingsport, I attended Dobyns-Bennett and graduated in 1978. From then until 2,000, I was a professional musician touring the United States and Europe, and recorded music for several major record labels.  After close to 30 years on the road, I was ready to come home and settle down.  I still played locally, but I wanted to do something completely new and different.

In 2006, I enrolled in Reflections of Health School of Massage in Johnson City, and graduated 4th in my class.  I worked in several hair salons and day spas until long time friend and former classmate, Dr. H. David Merrill, D.C. offered me a postition at Merrill Chiropractic doing a more medically oriented type of therapeutic massage. I I accepted, and have never looked back.  Since then, I have studied several different types of medical type massage including Neuromuscular Re-education, (NMR)and Repetitive Use Injury Therapy (RUIT) Between these methods of massage, being mentored and trained by Dr. Merrill, and constantly being in a medical environment, my massage technique, knowledge, and ability has increased dramatically. In short:

I LOVE MY JOB!

On any given day at work, I address sciatica, carpal tunnel, chronic low back pain, tendonitis, rotator cuff/shoulder pain, neck pain, heel spurs, dowagers Hump, and fibromyalgia, just to name a few.

And yes, I still do massage for just plain old stress!

Sara Keck

I graduated Holston Instistute of Healing Arts Massage Therapy School in April 2005. I use Hot-stone massage and relaxation massage techniques to relax and soothe muscular pain and stiffness.

I furthered my training with "Barefoot Masters" in learning Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage. The Ashiatsu Massage technique is different but not new.   Ashiatsu massage has been practiced in Asia and many other countries.  It is a technique that may deliver firm to very deep tissue.  Ashiatus barefoot massage is more tolerable because it offers a broad relaxing pressure instead of sharp, painful pressure of many deep tissue massage
